Introducing Springhouse Architects!

It is an exciting time at Scott Architecture!  We are introducing our new brand, Springhouse Architects. I couldn’t be more pleased with how everything is coming together.  Many colleagues, friends and family have asked me, “Why change from your name?  You built this.  It is you.”  That’s exactly why.  You see, it isn’t only about me anymore, and that’s a good thing.

I started Scott Architecture in 2008.  Business came slowly during the recession but I was fortunate to always have the work I wanted.  Over the next five years it was me and a part time draftsman.  It was good.  I liked what I did and was content.

In 2014, I attended a marketing workshop that inspired me to think more about the kind of firm I am building, and the way I wanted to serve clients.  In architecture, there are a lot of egos.  That culture of “ego” never felt authentic to me.  Our reality is, the story we are working within is the client’s story, not ours.  We are the guide in their story and we love that our client gets to be the hero of their own story.  They get the “win” at the end of the day and we have been there every step, guiding, informing and serving.

With that shift in mindset and the uptick in the economy, we started growing quickly.     Over the last two years we have grown to a team of seven people: three project managers, two interior designers, and one awesome office manager.  Now, our name needs to represent our team and our culture rather than myself.

For the past three years we have been working out of our renovated 100 year old springhouse. Rescuing an original stone outbuilding that had been abandoned is one of our most treasured projects.  It has served us well, as we are a team of remote workers with schedules that we control ourselves.  We all have full time lives that we are integrating into our work.  With this setup, I have been able to maintain a balanced life for myself and family, while allowing a very talented team the same advantages.

Taking inspiration from our office and truly believing that it is not about me, we are now rebranding and changing our name to Springhouse Architects.  It’s not about Sheri Scott and Scott Architecture - it is about our team, our clients and their stories.

We are excited about this new beginning.  I hope you will continue this journey with us!
